SML stands for Sunday Morning Live. This March 2019, SML will become KIDCITY to make it more recognizable to guests and kids as something completely designed for kids. It's our version of children's church. We know kids learn about anything better on their level, so we've designed Sunday Morning Live with your elementary age child in mind. We play games and use drama to help kids see God's big story and help kids begin a growing relationship with Jesus.
what age kids can come to KIDCITY?
We have designed KIDCITY for elementary age kids. We plan games and videos with Kindergarten to 4th graders in mind. Our Clubhouse environment is geared toward preschoolers from 3-5 years old.
What will my child do in KIDCITY?
A typical Sunday includes a fun game, interactive story, worship and some relevant videos to bring home our bottom line.
WHY DOES KIDCITY GO TO THE BALCONY SOMETIMES?
We believe children are the future of the church. We want children to understand they are part of a bigger story and participants in a bigger community. When the time comes we want kids to be ready to sit in a service and grow along with other adults.
WHERE DOES MY CHILD GO FOR KIDCITY?
Your child will go with you to the worship service. At a designated time (which is noted in the bulletin) your child can exit the sanctuary with us and head with our KIDCITY leaders to the Fellowship Hall. When the service is over you can pick your child up.
WHAT DO YOU LEARN IN KIDCITY?
Glad you asked. We love teaching kids about God's character and God's words every chance we get. KIDCITY is designed to focus on one character trait of God each month with 4-5 different stories from the Bible that illustrate the virtue. We also focus on one memory verse for the whole month so kids really get it in their heads and their hearts. Our hope is for children's hearts to be transformed rather than just modifying their behavior.
